Can you see a type here? No? Just me? Okay. Oops. Anyway, my world was flipped upside down that one fateful day I said 'fuck it' and watched Arcane S1. I was a little late, it came out winter of 2021 and I watched in early spring of 2023. Better late than never, right? Kept the hype for S2 more manageable.

Anyway. Vi. I was kind of indifferent to her at the start, but when the time skip happened, I was HOOKED. Properly and fully obsessed. Yeah, there's a bit of the gay brain of "ooohhh strong woman so cool", but also the more sensible brain who is obsessed with her characterization. Strong character who has the pressure of holding things so they don't break, and yet they do anyway? SIGN ME UP!

S2 was no different, I was still just as obsessed. is this where I confess to buying a shirt with her face on it? I have my own gripes with S2 and the pacing issues that caused, but I still think they did a great job with what they had. Also, who am I to deny myself a character going through a bit of emotional trauma and then coming back from it? Or trying to? Coming back different kind of narrative? Maybe.

Anyway. She's my go-to when I have to give a character crush, because its that fun mix of genuinely "shes so cool i want her" and "shes so cool i want to be her" and "isnt her characterization and narrative genuinely fascinating and depressing and yet she's still given a good and true ending, something that most characters aren't given the grace to enjoy". Ya know? Anyway, shoutout Vi.
